Julia
Julia is a new magazine of art seeking submissions from new and graduate writers invested in creative and critical art writing.

We are writers with graduate experiences in art, cultural studies, and English who value art writings and practices that engender critical thinking and affective shifts of the mind.

We accept email submissions on a rolling basis of new, previously unpublished essays, interviews, and reviews of up to 1,500 words. Please include in the email body the title, date, and place of the written piece, an author bio of up to 100 words, and any helpful context in which the piece was written. Attach the full text in .docx or .doc. Simultaneous submissions are permitted; however, please notify us if and as soon as your piece is accepted elsewhere.

Average time for acceptance notification is 8-10 weeks. Submission does not guarantee publication. Once the copy is approved by the editors, Julia handles all image requests. Writers are paid $50 (USD) for each published piece.
